True Education

'True education flowers at the point when delight falls in love with responsibility. If you love something, you want to look after it' Philip Pullman

This beautifully worded sentiment is in concordance with an important book called 'The Adventure Alternative' by Colin Mortlock. His book argues adventurous engagement with the outdoors engenders an awareness, love and respect for self, others and the environment. Such integral and deep lessons are only embodied through experience. (for more)

It is a philosophy championed by Ashley School in Walton on Thames. Their collaboration with the Harmony Project infuses context into the learning experience of the children -

> See the beauty
> Understand the connection
> Sustain for the future

I am working with the school to create excellent Playtimes where the children will be able not only to see the beauty but encouraged to freely experience it with all their senses.
